New Delhi: India spoke to a senior diplomat from the Pakistan High Commission on Monday and expressed concern over the recent incidents of attacks targeting members of the Sikh community in Pakistan.

During the summoning, the diplomat was urged to ensure the safety and security of Pakistan's minorities who continually live in fear of religious persecution. Sources told PTI that four separate incidents of attacks on Sikh community members occurred between April and June, prompting India to take serious note of these distressing events.

The Indian government has demanded that Pakistani authorities thoroughly investigate these violent attacks with utmost sincerity and subsequently share the investigation reports. A source emphasised, "It has also been conveyed that Pakistan should ensure the safety and security of its minorities, who live in constant fear of religious persecution."

By summoning the senior diplomat, India has sought to draw attention to the urgency of addressing these incidents and preventing further harm to the Sikh community.

India's strong protest highlights the need for Pakistan to take concrete actions to ensure they are not subjected to discrimination, persecution, or violence based on their religious beliefs.
