New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the India-Greece Strategic Partnership during a recent phone call. The conversation focused on enhancing cooperation in key areas such as trade, defense, shipping, and connectivity, according to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

The two leaders noted the positive momentum in India-Greece relations following recent high-level meetings, including Mitsotakis’ visit to India earlier this year. They discussed several initiatives aimed at boosting maritime connectivity and other collaborative efforts. Mitsotakis also congratulated PM Modi on his re-election after the June Lok Sabha polls, expressing hope for the future of bilateral relations.

In a social media post, PM Modi shared, "Yesterday, had a productive conversation with PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis, reaffirming our shared commitment to strengthening the India-Greece Strategic Partnership. Together, we aim to deepen our collaboration across trade, Defence, shipping, and connectivity. Greece is a valued partner for India within the EU as well."

The conversation included updates on the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) and discussions on regional issues, particularly in West Asia. This year, Mitsotakis attended the Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi as a chief guest, where both leaders emphasized enhancing connectivity through initiatives like IMEC to strengthen ties between India and Greece.
