Hindu men barge into Muslim family, attack members, sexually assault girl in Agra, watch video
text_fieldsAgra: A group of Hindu men aged between 20 and 30 barged into the house of a Muslim family and sexually assaulted an 18-year-old girl besides attacking other family members on Tuesday evening.
The family sustained injuries in the attack by the perpetrators, identified as Vishal Kumar, Sanjay Kumar, Sheelu, and Chotu who also vandalized vehicles parked near the property, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.DCP Suraj Kumar Rai confirmed the incident and a manhunt has been launched to arrest the absconding accused.
The incident came to light after a purported video of the attack began to surface on social media.
The son of the house owner expressed that even though the attack spanned about thirty minutes, no one from the locality dared to intervene. He also stated that his family has been targeted for being a prominent Muslim family in the area.
During the attack, the miscreants hurled stones at the family's residence, causing damage to the property and instilling a sense of fear and helplessness. The house owner's daughter and two sons sustained injuries in the assault, adding to the physical and emotional trauma endured by the family.
The attackers also issued death threats to the entire family, heightening the gravity of the situation. The house owner, who works with a transport company, revealed that the attackers were accompanied by additional individuals who stood guard outside the house, ensuring no interference as the family was subjected to the violent assault.
The police registered a case and initiated investigations into the matter. The police have identified the accused and have launched a manhunt to apprehend them. The accused face charges under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for their heinous actions.
Trans Yamuna SHO Anand Prakash stated that the injured family members had been sent for medical examinations. He urged the community to remain vigilant and extended reassurance that the police were determined to ensure the safety and security of all residents.
