Fraternity Movement holds protest at JNU against Waqf Amendment Bill
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Fraternity Movement organised a protest gathering at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) against the draconian Waqf Amendment Bill. As a symbolic act of resistance, a copy of the bill was burned during the protest.
Addressing the gathering, Fraternity leader Mohamed Kaif strongly condemned the bill and demanded its immediate withdrawal, describing it as a form of "legislative karseva" aimed at the systemic targeting of Muslims in the country.
Several student organisations, including BAPSA, Progressive Students Association (PSA), Allama Iqbal Study Circle, NSUI, MSF, AISA, and the Dravidian Students Council (DSC), extended their solidarity and participated in the protest. Leaders from these groups also addressed the gathering, voicing concerns over the implications of the amendment.
