France targets 30,000 Indian students by 2030, rolls out measures to attract them
text_fieldsParis: France has set an ambitious target of inviting 30,000 students from India to study in the country by 2030.
As part of this effort, the French embassy in India has introduced several measures to attract Indian students, including offering a five-year short-stay Schengen visa.
This announcement comes shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Paris as the chief guest for France's National Day.
These initiatives are part of the people-to-people ties that both countries aim to strengthen as one of the three pillars of their strategic partnership. In addition to the visa policy changes, France is also planning to establish "international classes," specialised programs designed to provide comprehensive training in the French language and various academic disciplines for the benefit of Indian students.
Emmanuel Lenain, the Ambassador of France to India, stated, "France will always be your friend, and we will do everything possible to ensure you have an amazing academic and life experience in our country."
The French embassy in India will host an education fair in four major Indian cities, including Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, and Mumbai, during the month of October. This fair will bring together representatives from more than 40 French higher education institutions to assist Indian students and their parents in selecting the right courses.
