Fire destroys over a hundred shops in Bodh Gaya's vegetable market
text_fieldsBodh Gaya: A vegetable market in Bihar's Bodh Gaya caught fire on Tuesday morning and destroyed 115 shops. The high-intensity fire gave the locals no time to control it.
So far, no fatalities have been reported.
People who were present at the spot said that a couple of LPG cylinders exploded after the fire broke out and this spread the fire even further. They also alleged that fire tended arrived late even after getting information, reported ANI.
A food outlet operator in the market said that the fire was so massive that no one dared to douse it. "A total of 115 to 117 shops were destroyed in the fire causing a loss of several lakhs of rupees. Only one fire brigade reached here that too was late, till then most of the market was under fire." Officials said five or six motorcycles were also burnt.
It is unclear what caused the fire. The police administration has arrived at the spot to investigate.
