Hyderabad: An eight-year-old boy was allegedly bitten by a rat at the McDonald’s outlet in Kompally, Hyderabad. The child's father Savio Henriques filed a complaint and an FIR has been registered by the Petbasheerabad police under Section 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) against the restaurant management.

The CCTV visuals of the incidents have gone viral on social media. The video shows the boy and his parents dining at a table. The rat is seen crawling toward them. When the customers raised the alarm, staff rushed to the table. According to the complaint, the boy was in shock. He was screaming in fear and pain as the rat climbed up his left leg and entered his shorts. The father picked up the child and pulled out the rat with his hands, reported The News Minute.

The complaint said there was no visible preventive reaction by them to curb the escaping rodent even though the entire staff of the restaurant was present. The incident took place around 10.40 pm on March 8. The father said the rat came out of the toilet inside the restaurant.

The complaint said the family is traumatised and called the rat a "health hazard". The boy was rushed to a military medical inspection room in Bowenpally to treat the wounds. He was administered tetanus and rabies vaccines.

Petbasheerabad Inspector P Ramakrishna is in charge of the investigation and said a notice will be served to the restaurant.
