Amul has unveiled a special Onam-themed advertisement featuring its beloved mascot in a festive new avatar.

The AI-generated film shows the iconic blue-haired Amul girl dressed in a pattupavada — a traditional two-piece attire — paired with sunglasses as she performs the globally viral ‘aura farming’ dance step.

The move became an internet sensation after 11-year-old Rayyan Arkan Dhika from Indonesia performed it at a local festival.

The ad also brings in Maveli (Mahabali), who is believed to return every year during Onam to visit his people. In the clip, Maveli is shown standing at the edge of a chundan vallam (boat), while the vessel is rowed by animated Amul products — milk powder, ghee, milk, and condensed milk — paddling their way through the backwaters.

The festive message appears on screen with the words, “Auraayiram Onashamsakal” (A thousand Onam wishes). “Let this Onam come, along with the aura of celebrations,” Amul captioned the ad in Malayalam.

Kerala Tourism also joined the trend with an AI-powered campaign, transforming Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa into a Malayali woman dressed in a traditional kasavu saree with jasmine flowers adorning her hair. The post, part of its “State of Harmony” campaign, carried the caption: “Timeless. Graceful. Iconic. The Kerala kasavu saree.”
