Netflix has released three episodes of its four-part docuseries "Bad Boy Billionaires", featuring riches-to-disgrace stories of fugitives including Nirav Modi and Vijay Mallya.

The film has been at the heart of a legal tussle in India, with courts in different states restraining Netflix from the release due to defamation cases filed by Satyam Computer Services' Ramalinga Raju and Sahara group's Subrata Roy.

The series revolves around money laundering and corruption schemes allegedly committed by the most-headlined billionaires. Netflix has described the show as an investigative docu-series that 'explores the greed, fraud and corruption that built up -and ultimately brought down- India's most infamous tycoons.'

The streaming service put out three episodes after Bihar's Araria district court lifted an injunction, Reuters reported, citing a company lawyer. Netflix argued that halting the show's release "freezes free speech" and hurt it financially, the news agency had reported.
