Chennai: IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla has confirmed that the venue for the home matches of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in India Premier League (IPL) will not be moved out of Chennai.

He said that the matches will be held as scheduled earlier in Chennai itself. Sufficient security will be put in place in Chennai, he said. He requested that IPL be not dragged into political controversies. Earlier, Chepauk stadium, Chennai had been decided as the venue for CSK's home matches.

Following the dispute on Cauvery river water between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, IPL's 11th season matches were reported to have been moved to Kerala. The reports had mentioned that some matches of CSK and Royal Challengers Bengaluru would be shifted to Kariavattom Greenfield (Sports Hub), and that discussions were also held regarding such changes between BCCI, Kerala Cricket Association, and CSK Management.
