UAE strongly condemns Israeli minister and settlers for Al-Aqsa mosque storming

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has strongly condemned the recent storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by an Israeli minister and settlers, who were escorted by Israeli police. The UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement stressing the urgent need for Israel to respect the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and refrain from actions that could undermine it.

The Ministry reiterated the UAE's firm stance on the necessity of providing full protection for Al-Aqsa Mosque and halting serious and provocative violations at the site. The UAE also emphasized the importance of respecting the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan's role in overseeing the holy sites and endowments in Jerusalem, in accordance with international law and the existing historical agreements. The Ministry underscored the need to respect the authority of the Jerusalem Endowments Administration and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs.

In its statement, the UAE expressed full solidarity and support for Jordan and the measures it takes to protect the holy sites. The Ministry called on Israeli authorities to cease actions that escalate tensions and destabilize the region. Additionally, the UAE reaffirmed its rejection of practices that violate international resolutions and contribute to further escalation.

The Ministry also called on the international community to intensify efforts to establish a serious political framework aimed at achieving comprehensive peace. It stressed the importance of the two-state solution as a means to fulfill the aspirations of the Palestinian people for an independent and sovereign state, in line with relevant international resolutions.
