Check-ins resume at Dubai terminal 2 after fire incident

Check-ins at Dubai International Airport's Terminal 2 resumed on Saturday night following a temporary suspension due to a fire incident.

"Check-in at Terminal 2 is now operating normally," DXB announced. The suspension, which impacted check-in services for approximately 50 airlines, occurred on July 20 and lasted over 40 minutes before authorities announced the system's resumption.

Earlier, the authorities stated that a minor fire had broken out, temporarily suspending check-ins.

The fire was "immediately brought under control by the airport fire services," according to the statement. "We regret the inconvenience and are currently working with service partners to resolve the situation," DXB added in the statement.

Terminal 2, featuring four main levels open to passengers, includes Level 1 for arrivals and Level 3 for departures. The check-in counters, ticket sale desks and cashier services are located on Level 3. Terminal 2 serves as the main hub for Dubai's budget airline, flydubai and caters to both scheduled and charter flights for various carriers.
