Dubai: Dubai Airports has issued a statement regarding the backlog of baggage at Dubai International (DXB) Airport following a series of flight cancellations due to unprecedented rainfall in the region.
Dubai International Airport is experiencing a backlog of baggage as a result of resource constraints caused by the recent inclement weather. Since the onset of heavy rains on Tuesday, the airport has faced 1,244 flight cancellations, leading to significant disruptions in flight operations.
Passengers whose baggage has not reached their destinations are advised to contact the airline representative at the airport or reach out to the airline’s call centre for assistance. Dubai Airports urges affected passengers to seek support promptly to address their concerns regarding delayed baggage.
Despite the challenges posed by the weather-related disruptions, Dubai Airports is committed to supporting affected passengers at DXB. The airport authority emphasises its dedication to providing necessary assistance and amenities to passengers impacted by travel delays.
“Dubai Airports is endeavouring to do its best to support passengers at DXB impacted by travel delays due to the recent unprecedented weather conditions the UAE experienced. This is the heaviest rainfall the UAE received in 75 years and we’re doing all we can to get operations back to normal,” said the statement.
