Jeddah: Saudi Arabia's King Salman International Complex for Arabic Language (KSICAL) is all set to launch proficiency courses for foreign Arabic teachers in the Kingdom and overseas, Arab News reported.
The projects aim to improve the Arabic language proficiency of foreign teachers, shape their academic knowledge and prepare them to evaluate educational materials in the language. Ultimately, it aims to promote the language internationally, aligning with the Saudi Vision 2030 targets.
A target of 800 teachers is to be trained through subjects of planning, linguistic policies etc., as well as setting Arabic language curricula, teaching methods and basics of automated Arabic language processing.
There will be four courses arranged under the project, to be offered by experts specialised in the language, and the first of them lasting ten months is going to start this month. There will be 30 virtual courses too.
Candidates who wish to enrol in the programme could coordinate with the institutions they are working for to be nominated.
However, the candidates must meet the required educational qualifications mandated by KSICAL, must be acquainted with the course subject, and should pass the linguistic proficiency test.

KSICAL is on the path of giving the Arabic language a global reach. It has plans to publish research materials, develop dictionaries, etc., too in the Arabic language.
