Jeddah: The Indian Consulate in Jeddah has invited nominations for the 2027 edition of the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award (PBSA), the highest civilian honour conferred by the Government of India on overseas Indians.
The award recognises outstanding contributions by Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) or organisations led by them across a wide range of fields. Eligible contributions include promoting a positive understanding of India, humanitarian and charitable activities, the welfare of the local Indian community and efforts supporting India’s development, among others.
Interested candidates must submit nominations by February 15, 2026, along with a cover letter detailing achievements, the prescribed application form and a summary. Soft copies should be emailed to cul.jeddah@mea.gov.in, while original documents must be submitted to the Indian Consulate office on Tahlia Street in Jeddah.
The consulate also noted that individuals and organisations may submit nominations directly. Such applications can be sent to pbsaward@mea.gov.in
The awards will be presented during the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention to be held in January 2027. Further details and application forms are available on the Indian Consulate’s website.
