New Indian Consul General Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri took charge in Jeddah

Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri, from Andhra Pradesh, took over as the newly appointed Consul General of the Indian Consulate in Jeddah on Sunday.

The new appointment is due to the expiry of the current Consul General Mohammad Shahid Alam's tenure.

Hajj Consul Muhammad Abdul Jaleel, Commerce Consul Muhammad Hashim and other Consuls and Consulate officials received the new Consul General at the Consulate.

Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri is a 2014 batch of Indian Foreign Service (IFS) graduate in Engineering and Business Management. He has served in the Ministry of Commerce as Under Secretary, India House First Secretary and Kuwait Embassy First Secretary.

When Fahad was the first secretary in Kuwait during the COVID period, he led the repatriation of one and a half lakh Indians under the Air Bubble Vande Bharat Mission. He had earlier reached Jeddah along with the current Consul General Muhammad Shahid Alam and was present for the services of Indian pilgrims during this year's Hajj.

Former Consul General Muhammad Shahid Alam, a native of Jharkhand, who is moving to a higher post at the Indian High Commission in London, returned to Delhi the other day. He will take charge in London in the first week of September.
