Celebration of Constitution Day, 2021

Riyadh: The Embassy of India in Riyadh is celebrating the 72nd anniversary of the adoption of the Indian constitution by its people. On this occasion, the Embassy has organized an exhibition, from November 24 -26, 2021, on the life of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Constitution of India and a global proponent of equal rights.

The inaugural function was attended by the members of the Indian community in Riyadh. Apart from exhibiting the photographs and books on the life of Dr. Ambedkar, the hall also had a display of important articles from the Indian Constitution, including the fundamental rights and duties of Indian citizens.


During his address, the Ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Ausaf Sayeed, paid tribute to the founders of the Constitution of India. He told Dr. Ambedkar was a visionary leader. Under his chairmanship, the drafting committee of the constituent assembly of India produced a futuristic document that reflects the ideals and aspirations of the people of India. He referred to the Indian constitution as the underlying pillar supporting the largest and the most diverse democracy in the world. The Ambassador also highlighted the importance of abiding by the constitutional provisions to ensure justice, liberty, and equality for all.

The Embassy is organizing a host of cultural events to commemorate 75 years of India's independence (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav) which also coincides with the completion of 75 years of India-Saudi diplomatic relations. As part of these celebrations, the Embassy, in collaboration with partner Embassies and Saudi organizations, is also organizing the 9th edition of Ambassador's Choice-International Film Festival, from November 25-December 07.
