AI Cabin Crew Sama 2.0 displayed at ITB Berlin 2024
Berlin: Qatar Airways has announced an extensive increase in flight frequencies to 15 global destinations over the next 12 months. This expansion includes additional flights to Berlin, marking a significant step in the airline's plan to enhancing worldwide connectivity.
From Doha's Hamad International Airport, Qatar Airways currently serves over 170 destinations, with a special focus on Germany, offering flights to five destinations starting this summer. Qatar Airways stole the spotlight at ITB Berlin 2024 by introducing its latest digital innovation. The airline launched Sama 2.0, the second-generation virtual MetaHuman cabin crew.
Sama 2.0 is an advanced AI cabin crew designed to interact with passengers, offering curated experiences within the immersive QVerse platform. The unveiling featured a stunning holographic display, showcasing the innovative capabilities of Sama 2.0.
To meet the rising demand for air travel, Qatar Airways revealed plans to increase flight frequencies to 15 global destinations throughout the summer and winter seasons. This strategic move aligns with the airline's dedication to serving key destinations in Europe. Among these include Qatar Airways' inaugural flight to Hamburg on July 1, 2024.
Qatar Airways Group CEO, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, stated that the increased flight frequencies reflect the surge in demand for air travel, bridging countries and people for mutual benefits.
“Innovation is a vital cornerstone of our mission, and with the new and improved Sama, we are taking another defining step toward enhancing our digital experience”, said Al-meer.
Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer, Thierry Antinori, expressed delight at sharing announcements with industry partners at ITB Berlin. “The expansion of our German market to Hamburg demonstrates our continuous commitment to our passengers by offering them even more choice to connect to Qatar Airways’ network of over 170 global destinations”, he said.
With the addition of Hamburg, Qatar Airways will now serve five destinations in Germany, with a total of 71 weekly flights. The summer season will see remarkable increases in flight frequencies to several destinations, including Barcelona, Boston, Brussels, Copenhagen, Kuala Lumpur, Manchester, Miami, Nice, Oslo, Paris, Rome, Seoul, Tunis and Warsaw.
