Indian community in Qatar welcomes new ambassador K Srikar Reddy

Indian community organisations in Qatar have held a reception for Dr K Srikar Reddy as he begins his tenure as India’s ambassador to the country.

The community reception was organised by the Indian Cultural Centre in association with the Indian Community Benevolent Forum, Indian Sports Centre and Indian Business and Professionals Council.

The event took place at ICC Ashoka Hall on Monday, September 14.

ICC president A.P. Manikantan welcomed attendees and delivered a message honouring the ambassador.

Further messages were delivered by ICBF president Shanavas Bava, ISC president E.P. Abdulrahman and IBPC president Thaha Muhammad.

The four organisations jointly welcomed Dr Reddy and wished him a successful tenure in Qatar.

Representatives of organisations associated with ICC, ICBF, ISC and IBPC also greeted the ambassador and offered their best wishes.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Reddy thanked the Indian community for its welcome.

ICC general secretary Abraham K. Joseph delivered the vote of thanks.

Attendees included Sandeep Kumar, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of India, and Harish Pandey, First Secretary for Education and Culture.

Managing and advisory committee members from the four community bodies also attended, along with leaders of associated organisations, principals of Indian schools and senior members of Qatar’s Indian community.
