Rafah: Israeli forces' assault on Friday killed at least 11 people and injured more than 40 in the Southern Gazan city of Rafah, Anadolu Agency (AA) reported.
According to medical sources from the ground, Israel targeted tents of displaced people to bomb them in the Al-Mawasi area, in the west of Rafah.
AA reported that Israel flouted a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire and continued its brutal invasion of Gaza since the Hamas lightning attack of October 7, 2023, into Israel's territories. The Benjamin Netanyahu administration has been facing international condemnation over the issue.
The Israel attacks since October 7 have killed more than 47,700 Palestinians, and most of them are women and children (15,821). The war that broke on the date also injured more than 86,400, the Hamas-led health ministry in Gaza reported.
The war that started nearly nine months ago has turned vast expanses of the Gaza enclave into ruins with the people in crisis as there is a shortage of food, clean water and medicine.
Before the International Court of Justice, Israel was accused of genocide. The court has recently ordered the Zionist nation to immediately stop its military operation in the southern city of Rafah. This is where all the refugees who had fled other areas in Gaza after Israel's offensive started on October 7th.
Chris Sidoti, the UN human rights expert, called the Israeli military one of the most criminal armies in the world, highlighting the incident of the Israeli army using a Palestinian youth as a 'human shield.' In a press briefing at the United Nations, Chris Sidoti said, "The Israeli army is one of the most criminal armies in the world." The incident, captured in viral footage, depicts a young Palestinian man allegedly abducted and strapped to an Israeli military vehicle in Jenin, West Bank. Identified as Mujahid Raed Abbadi, 24, he reportedly suffered injuries during the ordeal, which has sparked international outcry and renewed calls for accountability.
