Nothing happens in congress except casteist politics: Hardik Patel

Ahmedabad: Hardik Patel who quit Congress said his position in the party as the executive chairman was only on paper.

He was not given any responsibilities for two years, Hardik Patel alleged, addressing a press conference in Ahmedabad.

Patel resigned from the Congress party on May 18, announcing the decision on Twitter.

Slamming the Congress further, he called the Congress 'the biggest casteist party', according to India Today.

Alongside, accusing the Congress party of corruption, the Patidar leader pointed at Rahul Gandhi's Dahod adivasi Satyagraha Rally.

A bill for 70 thousand was made where only 25 thousand people were present at the rally, he said.

Rahul Gandhi had not discussed any single issue of the state during his visit to Gujarat, he alleged.

When Rahul came, he said, the state leaders discussed which chicken sandwich and the diet coke be given to him.

The leadership in the party has been around a family, he said adding that nothing happens in the Congress except casteist politics.

He apologised to the Patidar leaders for notlistening to their warning about Congress.

Hardik Patel dismissed rumours of him joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
