Nitish Kumar meets PM Modi, first since return to NDA

New Delhi: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar engaged in a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marking their first interaction since Kumar rejoined the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and formed a government in collaboration with the BJP.

The meeting precedes the Bihar government's upcoming trust vote in the Assembly scheduled for February 12.

The Janata Dal (United) leader, Nitish Kumar, is set to meet other prominent leaders of the BJP during his inaugural visit to the national capital after his transition from the "Mahagathbandhan" alliance back to the NDA on January 28.

Bihar Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, both representing the BJP, met the prime minister earlier this week.

The chief minister's discussions with top BJP leaders may extend to matters concerning the upcoming Rajya Sabha polls in the state, as suggested by JD(U) sources. Six Rajya Sabha seats in Bihar are set to be vacant, with elections scheduled for February 27.
