Gang-raped minor rescued; 4 including a woman, arrested

Patna: A woman and three others were arrested by the Bihar police in a case of gang rape of a minor girl and selling her. Regarding the incident that happened in Bihar's Madhubani district, Police said that the girl was raped by several people, including police personnel, and was sold off for Rs 50,000 for a woman pimp, IANS reported.

The incident came to the public after a police team rescued the girl from of Mau district of Uttar Pradesh. She was the woman pimp, identified as Sonia Devi. Those arrested have been identified as Soni Devi, Arjun Yadav, a night guard of Ashok Market located in Jainagar, and an electrician Sajan Kumar.

A police driver and a Chowkidar, identified as Acharya and Ramjiwan Paswan of Jainagar police station, are absconding, Police informed.

The girl left her home in Mau a month ago and reached Jainagar town of Madhubani district. She met Arjun Yadav and asked for help, but he took her to a secluded place and raped her along with his three friends.

She was later held captive in a room, invited more people and repeatedly assaulted her sexually.

The Mau police had started a probe after a missing complaint was registered. On the basis of the information, the team raided Soni Devi's house in Jainagar town and rescued the girl.

Confirming the incident, Sanjay Kumar, SHO of Jainagar police station, said that the district police arrested the accused. Further investigation is underway to arrest other accused.

SHO of Jainagar police station said that further investigation is going on in the case. "Mau police raided the house of a woman pimp. Three persons have been arrested so far, and an investigation is currently underway. We have a few names of the accused that came during the investigation. Raids are currently underway. They will be put behind bars soon," he added.
