Aligarh: A 14-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped, drugged and gang-raped in Charra village in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh district on Saturday, July 11, police said.
The girl, a Muslim, went out to buy vegetables and did not return. Her father lodged a missing-persons complaint and later she was found unconscious with bruises and torn clothes in a field on the outskirts of the village.
Two men, identified as Kishan Gopal Valmiki and Sanju Valmiki, were arrested on Sunday, July 12. Police said the men were loitering nearby in an inebriated condition. The survivor’s father alleged the accused sprayed a chemical to render her nearly unconscious, forced her to drink liquor and then assaulted and raped her.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The girl is receiving treatment at the district hospital.
