Delhi: The National Center for Seismology(NCS) announced that a small earthquake had been detected in the national capital of Delhi on Thursday morning. The earthquake measured 2.8 on the Richter Scale making it a very minor phenomenon.
In a tweet, NCS said the earthquake struck at 9:17am. The epicentre of the earthquake was 8 km northwest (NW) of the national capital, the agency said.
No damage to buildings or loss of life was reported. Last year, experts had warned of a potential high-magnitude earthquake that could strike the capital after 9-10 minor earthquakes occurred in the space of one and a half months.
