Delhi Teacher throws girl off school building; gets suspended

New Delhi: A teacher of a school in Delhi allegedly threw a girl student off the first floor of a building. The teacher, who hit the student with scissors before throwing her off, has been suspended by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), PTI reported.

The department has initiated further investigation has been into the matter, a senior MCD official told PTI.

The incident took place at the Prathmik Vidyalaya in central Delhi's Model Basti area, and a large crowd gathered there, according to police. They reached the spot to bring the situation under control.

Police confirmed that the student was allegedly hit with scissors and thrown off the first floor. The girl is injured and under treatment at the Hindu Rao Hospital.

"The student has been admitted to the Hindu Rao Hospital. All necessary tests, including a CT scan, have been done. The child is safe and stable and is responding well.

"The teacher has been detained by police. The MCD has also suspended her with immediate effect. Further investigation is being conducted by the department," the senior MCD official informed PTI.

Police later said that the teacher was identified as Geeta Deshwal.
