Burger King firing: harrowing visuals of youth being shot at surfaces

New Delhi: The national capital sank in shock after a youth was shot dead in a chilling incident at Rajouri Garden in Delhi on Tuesday night. The 26-year-old was fired at least 40 times at a Burger King outlet here, and visuals of the attack have surfaced, NDTV reported.

As per the visuals, the victim, identified as Aman, was sitting with a woman who was showing him a picture on her phone. Later, two men sitting behind Aman could be seen taking out pistols and firing at him in the back.

The visuals show people running in panic after the shots were fired. When Aman ran towards the billing counter, the assaulters followed and kept firing.

However, the woman who was with Aman didn’t seem troubled by the turn of incidents, and she walked out of the food joint.

As per the NDTV report, 38 bullets of three different makes were fired at Aman, the FIR says, and the different bullets suggest that more than two weapons were used by the two shooters.

The victim’s body was found behind the billing counter, and the food joint staff said that the attackers were of the 25-30 age group. Police doubt that the attack was part of a gang rivalry and revenge for a 2020 murder in Haryana.

It is suspected that the woman who sat with Aman had lured him to the food joint, and therefore, her role in the crime is under probe. She has a criminal record, says police, who added that moves have been initiated to track her down. She had taken Aman’s wallet and phone.

A police officer told PTI that fugitive gangster Himanshu Bhau has claimed to have taken responsibility for the attack through a social media post. He, who is suspected to be in Portugal, said in the post that Aman was involved in the murder of “our brother” and “this was revenge”. He said others who were involved in “brother’s” murder will have their turn soon.
