Delhi Burger King firing & murder: police make first arrest

New Delhi: The Delhi Police made their first arrest on the case of a man being shot dead inside a fast food joint in Delhi's Rajouri Garden, PTI reported.

The arrestee is the one who allegedly brought the two shooters in the incident to the spot on his vehicle, a senior police officer said. He added that the arrestee is being interrogated.

The murder victim, 26-year-old Aman Joon, hailed from Haryana, was shot dead by two gangsters while he was sitting with a woman inside a Burger King outlet in Rajouri Garden's J Block on June 18. Joon was shot at least 38 times since there were 38 gunshot wounds on firearms of three different making.

Harrowing visuals of the incident had surfaced on social media. As per the visuals, the victim, identified as Aman, was sitting with a woman who was showing him a picture on her phone. Later, two men sitting behind Aman could be seen taking out pistols and firing at him in the back.

The visuals show people running in panic after the shots were fired. When Aman ran towards the billing counter, the assaulters followed and kept firing.

However, the woman who was with Aman didn't seem troubled by the turn of incidents, and she walked out of the food joint.

Joon's killing was an outcome of a gang war between jailed gangsters Neeraj Bawana and Ashok Pradhan, they had said. The officer said that three other suspects, the woman who accompanied Joon and the two shooters, are still at large.

It is suspected that the woman who sat with Aman had lured him to the food joint, and therefore, her role in the crime is under probe. She has a criminal record, says police, who added that moves have been initiated to track her down. She had taken Aman's wallet and phone
