Mumbai: Television actor Sheezan Khan, who is in police custody in connection with the alleged suicide of TV actor Tunisha Sharma, told the police it was the disturbing atmosphere prevailed in the country after the murder of Shraddha Walkar that forced him to sever his relationship with Tunisha.
The 20-year-old Tunisha, who was in a relationship with Sheezan Khan, was found hanging in the washroom when the shooting set where both the actors were taking part left for a tea break on December 24.
The crew members at the shooting site had forced their way into the washroom, when she did not turn up for a long time, only to find her hanging, reportedly hours after both actors had lunch together.
The police said that Sheezan Khan told them the repercussions following Shraddha Walkar’s murder by Aaftab Poonawala forced him to part ways because of their different religious background apart from the age gap between them. Sheezan is 28, and Tunisha was 20.
According to the Police, Sheezan Khan told them it was not Tunisha’s first suicide attempt following their break up. Sheezan Khan was told to have advised her mother to give her special attention after her first suicide attempt a few days before when, he claimed, he saved her.
Sheezan Khan was arrested yesterday under charges of abetment to suicide after Tunisha's mother filed a complaint against him. According to the First Information Report (FIR), the two actors, who were in a relationship, broke up 15 days back. It is being suspected that this left Tunisha upset and pushed her to the edge.
Sheezan Mohammed Khan was on Sunday sent to four-day police custody by the Vasai court in Mumbai.
The police have sent the mobile phones of both Tunisha and Sheezan to the forensic lab so that the calls and chats between the two can be retrieved to understand what happened between the duo.
