Mumbai: Slumdog Millionaire actor Madhur Mittal, who donned the character of Salim in the movie, has been accused in a sexual harassment case.
The petitioner, his ex-partner, alleged that the actor attacked and sexually assaulted her at his home in Mumbai on February 23. An FIR was registered at Khar police station based on the woman's petition on the same day.
The actor, who is currently in Jaipur in a shoot, responded that the allegations are 'fake' and 'disturbing'. He also added that the case would hinder his job.
He has also alleged that fake information regarding him is spreading through WhatsApp, adversely affect his work. He is the sole earner for his family since he was seven, and such news will adversely affect his income, future, and family, he added.
The actor garnered fame after he donned the character of Salim, elder brother of the lead character Jamal donned by Dev Patel. Mittal, who has worked in movies and television programs since childhood, gained global recognition after becoming part of an Oscar-winning film.
