Fahad Faasil's Malik to release in May 2021

Director Mahesh Narayanan released a new look poster for his upcoming film 'Malik' starring Fahad Faasil, which has revealed the theatrical release date to be May 13 next year.

The crew had earlier released a working still which showed the actor looking unrecognisably thin. In an interview with the Times of India, Director Mahesh Narayanan had stated that the actor had lost almost 20 kilos for the role.

"We shot the entire thing in reverse; we started with the elder portions and then went to the younger. I think it was difficult for all the actors involved," said Narayanan.

Starring Joju George, Nimisha Sajayan, Dileesh Pothan, Vinay Forrt, Indrans, Sudhi Koppa, Chandhunath, and Jalaja, the film is based on real-life events that took place in the 1960s. Sanu John Varghese is doing cinematography for the film and Sushin Shyam is directing music.

'Malik' is one of the most highly anticipated Fahad-starrers still to come along with Alphonse Puthren's 'Paattu' and Dileesh Pothen's 'Joji' which is reportedly an adaptation of Shakespeare's 'Macbeth'. Fahad Faasil has also teamed up with his father, director Faasil in 'Malayankunju'.
