The Film Exhibitors United Organisation of Kerala has stepped forward to clarify that it has not issued a ban on movies starring Malayalam actor Fahad Faasil.
The move comes after several news reports surfaced that alleged FEUOK had issued a warning against the actor for starring in multiple OTT releases instead of films available for theatre release.
"We have seen reports on news channels about FEUOK banning films of Fahad Faasil in theatres. This is quite baseless. The organisation has no issues with Fahad Faasil or the films he has acted in. The organisation maintains good relations with everyone," said the release signed by FEUOK general secretary Sumesh Joseph.
Joseph also denied that there was any bad blood between the actor and the association. Other reports had mentioned that actor Dileep, a former head of FEUOK, and B.Unnikrishnan who heads the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) has also spoken to Fahad regarding his back-to-back OTT releases.
"We had called Fahad a month ago to speak about the OTT releases. He has agreed that there will not be too many of them. There has definitely not been any ban on the actor," Sumesh Joseph said in a statement to The News Minute.
Fahad's latest release is Dileesh Pothen's 'Joji' which was inspired from Shakespeare's 'Macbeth'.
