Ayisha film grabs laurels at Oman International Film Festival

Muscat: Malayalam film Ayisha was recognized at the 4th 'Cinemana' International Film Festival. M Jayachandran won the award for the background score of the film in the competition category. The jury noted that Ayisha's background score was an unusual blend of Arab-Indian music.

This award also had the distinction of being recognized at the Arab Festival for a film set in an Indo-Arabic setting. His Excellency Sayyid Ibrahim bin Saeed Al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam presented the award at the closing ceremony of the festival held at Musandam. Directed by Aamir Pallikal, the film is based on Nilambur Ayisha's Saudi life with Manju Warrier as the central character.

The movie was scripted by Ashif Kakkodi. Produced by Zakariya, the film is co-produced by M.T.Shamsudheen, Harris Desom, P B Anish, Zakariya Vavad and Bineesh Chandran. The film hit the theatres on January 20 and got a good response from the audience.

The Fourth International Arab Film Festival, Cinemana was held at Muscat, Musandam Governorate. More than 120 films from Oman, Syria, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Iran, Bahrain, Serbia, and India, among others were screened at the festival.
