New Delhi: In the case of the sexual abuse case involving Karnataka's Hassan MP Prejwal Revanna, the National Commission for Women (NCW) made a dramatic entrance on Thursday with the claim that a woman had approached them stating that someone pretending to be state police threatened and forced her to file a sexual abuse case against the MP, The News Minute reported.

According to the NCW, the three people who approached the woman were in civil dress and claimed to be from Karnataka Police, forcing her to file a false complaint. The woman's body also claimed that the woman received phone calls from random numbers threatening her to do the same.

The NCW stated that the woman sought protection for herself and her family, and therefore, the woman's body demanded the Karnataka DGP Alok Mohan to provide her with the same.

JD(s) leader and former chief minister of the state, HD Kumaraswamy, took the cue to attempt to turn the narrative on the issues since Prajwal is his party member. He alleged that the Special Investigation Team probing the abuse case is threatening survivors with false prostitution cases to accuse Prejwal. Alleging that the ongoing probe is biased, Kumaraswamy met Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot to hand the case over to the CBI.

He then claimed that the state government failed to stop the circulation of the alleged videos, and they caused agony, sorrow and humiliation to the families of the victims. He added that the activities of the SIT are controlled and monitored by the state government, and the probe team is working under the behest of the CM and Deputy CM.

Kumaraswamy told reporters that the state government is trying to create conflicts inside his community. It is bringing the Vokkaliga leaders against him to fight him, he claimed.

TNM quoted Kumaraswamy, "As per my information they have brought the family of victims, kidnapped woman. Why haven't they produced them before the court? Why have they been kept in some guest house? Why can't the SIT give information about her appearance before the magistrate?...Their intention is nothing but to keep HD Revanna in jail for three days."
