The failure of the talks between the US and Iran in Islamabad is not unexpected. The parties involved came to the talks with opposing positions, which could be considered a failure even before they began. The ceasefire, which was brokered by Pakistan, had already become half-dead due to Israel's aggression in Lebanon. The issues in the talks are complex. The US wants Iran to stop activities that could lead to a nuclear weapon; Iran says it will not build nuclear weapons; but it will not abandon its nuclear energy program. Iran wants the unjust sanctions against it to be completely lifted; but the US says that this can only be done in stages, after inspection of whether the conditions are being met. Iran wants a complete ceasefire in the region, including Lebanon. But the United States says it cannot stop Israeli military action against Hezbollah. The talks have stalled, at least for the time being. Although Pakistan succeeded in bringing both sides to the table, it lacked the leverage to force a settlement.

It is not difficult to see that the main reason for the trust deficit between the two parties is the actions of the US so far and its subservience to Israel. Iran, which gained independence from the tyranny of the US puppet Shah Pahlavi, has no history of attacking any other country. The US, on the other hand, is creating a threat by building many military bases around Iran. The US is also the one that imposed severe sanctions against Iran. The US and Israel are countries with nuclear weapons. And they are the ones who are demanding Iran not build nuclear weapons. Iran is a country that has accepted as an article of its faith that it will not build nuclear weapons. Iran has signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty; Israel has not. UN inspectors constantly monitor and inspect Iran's nuclear facilities. Neither Israel nor the United States are subject to such inspections. Agencies, including those belonging to the US, have certified that Iran does not have a nuclear weapons capability. The real aggressors are the United States and Israel, who in spite of such facts are punishing the Iranian people with sanctions and war in the name of nuclear capability. Iran only joined the fight when it started a war against them.

This means that the crisis, including the one in Hormuz, was created by the US-Israeli alliance. The withdrawal of the US-Israeli side is the first and foremost thing that needs to happen to end the current unrest and crisis. The Israeli-US mode of action consists of not only launching attacks but also undermining peace efforts. In addition to the deceitful tactics of killing Iranian guests and leaders, they also have a style of continuing the war even while peace talks are underway. When an agreement had been reached with Iran on the nuclear issue, the United States suddenly started the war. Earlier, when it came to the point that mediation was likely to succeed, it also sabotaged it. This is still happening today. The agreement specifically stated that the ceasefire would also apply to Lebanon. But the US backed out of it due to Israeli pressure. There are many other incidents that show that the decisions taken by the US are subject to Israel's endorsement. Therefore, even if the US agrees to a settlement, Israel will sabotage it. They themselves convince the world that the only solution before the world is to isolate the US-Israeli alliance. The failure of the Islamabad talks underlines this once again.
