United Nations: Saudi Arabia's permanent delegate at the UN said that confronting crimes against humanity and combating impunity is a noble objective to achieve justice. Nidaa Abu Ali, head of the legal committee was speaking at the 76th session of the UN General Assembly.

She reiterated that such crimes are among the most dangerous ones for the international community and stressed the need to implement the principle of accountability, reported Arab News.

Abu Ali also pledged the Kingdom's support for justice and international agreements. She added that developing new definitions that might cause confusion in interpretation should be avoided. The Saudi representative also stressed the importance of unifying the definitions stated in the relevant draft convention such as slavery, torture, and forced disappearance of persons.

Chairperson of the Economic and Financial Committee at the Kingdom's permanent delegation at the UN, Reem Al-Omair, said that Saudi Arabia is committed to combating illicit financial flows and promoting good practices regarding the recovery of financial assets, reported Arab News.

The programs and initiatives of the Saudi Vision 2030 contributed to enhancing transparency, developing policies and procedures, and filling gaps to contain corruption, said Al-Omair. "The Kingdom is keen to harness its potential and resources in the service of humanitarian issues in cooperation with the UN and the international community".
