Hamas killing 8 Israeli troops: Israel forces unleash hell in Rafah
text_fieldsRafah: After the attack Hamas carried out, which killed eight Israeli soldiers, Israeli forces unleashed an offensive in the southern city of Rafah, torching and demolishing dozens of houses, Al Jazeera reported.
The Israel bombings of three houses in the north of Gaza City killed at least 28 Palestinians.
Referring to the Hamas's ambush on Israeli troops, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that it was "another heavy price" for Israel's "just war" on Gaza, Al Jazeera quoted.
Meanwhile, the UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) warned that 50,000 children in Palestine needed immediate treatment for malnutrition.
The United States has imposed sanctions on an Israeli far-right group known as Tzav 9, citing their obstruction of humanitarian aid convoys destined for Gaza. The move comes amidst growing concerns over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, exacerbated by a blockade that severely limits essential supplies reaching the territory.
Tzav 9, described as a "violent extremist" organization, has been accused by the Biden administration of actively blocking and damaging aid trucks bound for Gaza. The group's actions, which allegedly include looting and setting fire to humanitarian vehicles, have drawn condemnation from the US Department of State.
So far, the war has killed 37,296 Palestinians and wounded 85,197, the Hamas-led health ministry in Gaza informed. When 1,139 Israelis died in the war, dozens were held in Hamas captive.
War in Gaza broke out after Hamas led a lightning strike into Israeli territories on October 7 last year. After this, PM Netanyahu pledged that it would destroy Hamas to its roots. But the Israel offensive into the already ravaged Gaza worsened the humanitarian situation in the conclave to multitudes.
