Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, the Indian Ambassador to Yemen, officially presented his credentials to His Excellency Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, President of the Republic of Yemen and Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council. The ceremony took place in Aden, marking the formal commencement of Ambassador Khan's role as India's envoy to Yemen.

The event was attended by Yemen's Foreign Minister, Dr. Shaya Zindani, highlighting the importance of the occasion. Ambassador Khan expressed his commitment to strengthening the close and friendly ties between India and Yemen during the ceremony. In his meeting with President Al-Alimi, Ambassador Khan discussed various areas of cooperation, including defense, the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) courses and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) scholarships that benefit Yemeni citizens.

President Al-Alimi, who fondly recalled his association with India, emphasized the enduring India-Yemen relationship. He expressed confidence in further deepening and broadening the bilateral ties between the two nations.

Following the ceremony, Ambassador Khan is scheduled to meet with various local interlocutors, government officials, and members of the Indian community in Yemen. These discussions aim to explore opportunities for collaboration in trade, culture, education and health, focusing on benefiting both countries.

This visit marks a new chapter in India-Yemen relations, with both nations eager to build on their historic ties and explore new avenues for cooperation.
