Thiruvananthapuram: The Thiruvananthapuram International Airport Ltd (TIAL) has taken steps to ease rush during the year-end as air travel is picking up momentum.

After long-drawn slump, traffic has surpassed the pre-Covid levels, according to a report.

Passenger traffic has marked over 30 per cent rise with average of 10,500 per day in December 2022, compared to the same period last year, The Times of India reported.

TIAL has directed international passengers to report at least three hours ahead of the journey. Domestic passengers are asked to report two hours early.

"Landside security personnel will ensure that there is no congestion at the drop off point and passengers get to access the terminal easily. The peak movements and peak hour for the day is identified and adequate manpower at all passenger touch point areas are deployed," TOI quoted TIAL as saying in a press note.
