Kasaragod: Kasaragod RTO says the bus that lost control before falling over a house killing seven people here was roadworthy and had a fitness certificate.

The top official found no issues with the bus as regards its engine and break, reports say.

Overload of passengers, and the driver's inexperience could have led to the accident, RTO reportedly said.

Fifty people also got injured after the bus, ferrying a wedding party, fell over an unoccupied house in Panathoor here on Sunday.

The bus was coming from Puthoor in Karnataka to Karikayi here; when it reached at a slope in Panathoor the bus lost control and hit bus shelter before falling over the house.

Transport minister directed Kasaragod district collector to investigate the accident.
