Palarivattom flyover just a tip of the iceberg: HC

Kochi: The Kerala High Court denied bails to Sumeet Goyal, Managing director of RDS projects and PWD secretary TO Sooraj in the Palarivattom flyover case on Wednesday.
Declining the bail, the court brushed aside the argument that nothing is there to suggest poor quality of construction and load test was not done.
The court also said that what was revealed could be only a tip of the iceberg, and wider conspiracy might be involved in the case.
“Prima facie, there are materials suggesting that there has been a dangerous compromise on the quality of work done which could be for pecuniary gain. All the persons responsible are yet to be identified. It appears that wider and deeper conspiracy is involved and what is revealed till now may only be the tip of the iceberg. Definitely, the investigation has to be progress forward with determination and taken to its logical conclusion” the judgment stated.
