Gurugram: Gurugram police informed on Wednesday that a 42-year-old woman was found dead in a rented house in Kanhai Colony. They said that her body showed marks on her neck indicating being strangulated, PTI reported.

Identified Kamala Devi, a native of Madhya Pradesh's Panna, was found dead on Tuesday. She was living with a man. The man, the main suspect, is absconding, the police said. They added that an FIR has been registered at Sushant Lok Police station, and an investigation has been initiated.

The woman's son, Baliram, told police that his father, Mahesh, had left them three years ago. After a year, the father left- six months ago- the woman started to live with another man, Surender, who is the suspect. Surender was a labourer in Wazirabad village, and he used to have frequent quarrels with Kamala Devi, Baliram said.

He added that Surender was a drug addict. On Tuesday evening, there was a fight between his mother and the man, so Baliram left the house and stayed with a friend in Wazirabad. When he reached back the following morning, he found his mother dead, and Surender disappeared, Baliram said, adding that Surender killed his mother.
