Uttar Pradesh CMO's Twitter account hacked, restored after few hours
text_fieldsLucknow: The official Twitter account of the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister's Office (CMO) was hacked on Friday.
After the UP CMO's official Twitter was taken over by hackers, more than a hundred tweets were made from the account. The hackers had also removed the Chief Minister's display picture from the Twitter handle.
The breach came to light when unknown hackers used the UP CMO Twitter handle to publish a post based on a tutorial called "How to turn your BAYC/MAYC animated on Twitter".
However, Chief Minister Yogi started appearing on the Twitter handle again.
As soon as the users became aware of the Twitter handle of UP CMO being hacked, people started complaining about this to CM Yogi Adityanath and UP Police with screenshots of the hacking.
The account was hacked at around midnight.
After almost 4 hours, the account was partially restored and the tweets posted by the hackers after taking over the account were removed.
Now, the screenshots of the hacked CMO account are doing rounds on social media.
UP CMO's (@CMOfficeUP) Twitter account has four million followers at present.
