UP bride fires gun at the wedding, stunning the groom

Lucknow: Police in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras are investing a footage that showed a woman in bridal dress firing a gun.

The wedding is reported to have taken place on Friday night at a guest house in Salempur village of Hathras Junction area.

The footage showed a man handing a loaded revolver to the bride who was seated beside the groom, according to NDTV.

The woman turns the business end of the gun to the ceiling and opens celebratory fire for four times in rapid succession.

All the while the groom was sitting tight nervously staring ahead without involving in the act.

The woman began to fire after the couple garlanded each other in jaimaal (garlanding) ceremony and were blessed by relatives.

The man who handed the gun, pulling out of his waist, to the bride was one of her relatives.

Obviously, the bride was acting as though everything was planned well ahead. Police are trying to identify the man who carried the gun.

A case has been registered on the basis of the footage, said Hathras Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ashok Kumar Singh.
