Seven dead, at least 10 injured after blast at firecrackers factory in Himachal Pradesh
text_fieldsShimla: An explosion at a factory in Himachal Pradesh's Una district on Tuesday has claimed the lives of least seven workers. As per reports, at least 10 others are believed to have suffered burn injuries in the unfortunate incident.
According to a senior district official, the incident occurred at a factory where firecrackers were being made.
The injured are being admitted to the hospital in Una.
Superintendent of Police, Una, Arjit Sen Thakur told reporters, "The police reached the spot as soon as the incident took place. The cause of the fire will be investigated. According to the information received, six persons have died and around 12 are injured, who have been sent to the regional hospital Una for treatment."
Una Deputy Commissioner Raghav Sharma told PTI that prima facie, most of the dead and injured are migrant labourers.
Fire department personnel and other district officials are present at the site.
