Sanjay Raut's tweet hints to a possible dismissal of Govt
text_fieldsMumbai: Amid the disgruntled Shiv Sena leader's claim of having the support of more than 40 MLAs, enough to topple the Maharashtra coalition government, the senior Sena leader Sanjay Raut's tweet has hinted at a possible dissolution of the assembly.
His tweet in Marathi reads, "The political developments in Maharashtra are heading towards dismissal of the Assembly."
The tweet is seen as a message to Eknath Shinde and others who are with him that the party chief and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray are likely ready to give up the government than yield to Shinde's demands.
Shinde and his supporters wanted that the Sena should sever its association with the Congress and the NCP in the government and revive its connection with the BJP.
Earlier, Raut was seen easy going about Shinde's plan of defecting to the BJP with the intention to topple the government, calling Shinde his close friend.
Shinde, who flew from Gujarat to Assam—both BJP-ruled states—claims he has the support of 40 MLAs out of the Sena's 55 and six independents. Hosted and escorted by the BJP, the MLAs checked into a Guwahati five-star hotel early this morning, hours after Shiv Sena Chief and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray reached out to Shinde.
