Poster of Owaisi burnt; 'anti-national' leaders will be next says Ayodhya priest
text_fieldsBARABANKI: Ayodhya's Tapasvi Chhawani temple priest Paramhans Das burnt a poster of AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi for his alleged inflammatory remarks on Friday and warned that "anti-national" leaders would be burned tomorrow instead of the poster.
He targeted Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also for failing to visit the party-ruled Rajasthan where a tailor was brutally murdered by two men for an "insult to Islam".
Das accused All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen President Owaisi of making provocative statements and said that such statements would increase terrorist activities.
"All anti-national leaders should come to their senses. Today the poster was burnt, tomorrow (they) will be burnt alive," he said.
Speaking to reporters, Das criticized Rahul and Priyanka, saying that the Congress leaders visit states where the party is not in power and organizes protests on minor issues, but none of them has visited Rajasthan.
A poster of Owaisi was burnt at the Badosarai intersection here by Das.
While the poster was being burnt, the police reached the spot in large numbers and confiscated it. They took Das outside the police station limits.
Kanhaiya Lal, a tailor in the Dhan Mandi area of Udaipur, Rajasthan, was hacked to death by two men, Riaz Akhtari and Ghouse Mohammad, at his shop on Tuesday.
Later, they posted videos online saying they were retaliating against an "insult to Islam", sparking violence in Udaipur, part of which came under curfew. The two accused have since then been arrested.
