Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Congress party of sheltering terrorists and creating false narratives for the sake of elections while addressing a public rally in the Ballari district of Karnataka.

PM Modi invoked ‘The Kerala Story’ movie, which has recently been in controversy, and said that the film exposes the ugly truth of terrorism and its design. He added that Congress is opposing the movie, which is based on a terror conspiracy, and standing with terror tendencies. Modi stated that the Congress has shielded terrorism for the vote bank.

Modi also criticized the Congress manifesto and called it "full of lies". He accused the party of appeasement and said that they are having a problem with him for saying 'Bajrang Bali'. Modi's comments came amidst a heated political atmosphere in Karnataka, where the state legislative assembly elections are scheduled to be held in 2023.

Meanwhile, the Congress party stepped up its attack on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and released a ‘corruption card’ and advertisements targeting the BJP on the issue of corruption. The card displayed a “rate card” of alleged BJP corruption in Karnataka and was advertised in local newspapers. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi called the BJP a “trouble engine”.

The political scenario in Karnataka is heating up with the upcoming assembly elections. Both Congress and the BJP are trying to win the voters' trust by attacking each other with accusations and counter-accusations. The Congress has accused the BJP of corruption, while the BJP is attacking the Congress on the issue of terrorism and appeasement politics.

The BJP is hoping to retain power in Karnataka, while the Congress is looking to make a comeback in the state. The upcoming assembly elections will be a litmus test for both parties, as they try to win the voters' confidence by addressing their concerns and issues.
