Mumbai: A report filed by the Narcotics Control Bureau says that Sameer Wankhede, the former IRS official who arrested actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son in a drug case, reportedly collected valuable properties disproportionate to his income.

Wankhede, according to the report, funded multiple trips to foreign destinations, owned vast property, flats, and luxury watches, according to NDTV after accessing the report.

The Central Bureau of Investigation’s First Information Report on the official is reportedly based on the report by Narcotics Control Bureau.

Sameer Wankhede and a few others, as alleged by the agency, demanded ₹ 25 crore as bribe from Shah Rukh Khan's family, in order not to frame Aryan Khan in the drug case.

Aryan Khan and his friend Arbaaz Merchant were added at the last moment while some other suspects were dropped from the list, NCB’s report suggests.

A report by the Indian Express based on NCB probe said that initial extortion demand was Rs 25 crore which however was settled at Rs 18 crore and then Rs 50 lakh was given as ‘token amount’.

The Narcotics Control Bureau’s vigilance report submitted on June 16 last year carried the statement of Shah Rukh’s manager, Pooja Dadlani, who allegedly handed over the bag with Rs 50 lakh hours after Aryan Khan was arrested from Cordelia cruise ship in the case.

Dadlani, who is allegedly privy to what happened in the wee hours of October 3,2021, gave a statement to the vigilance team after refusing three summons by the Mumbai police.

Citing sources, the report by The Indian Express said that the statement suggests an attempt was made to extort money from Shah Rukh Khan, and the CBI started probing the matter.

Sameer Wankhede, according to NDTV citing NCB report, made foreign trips six times to destinations including UK, Ireland, Portugal, South Africa and Maldives between 2017 and 2021, spending 55 days in Maldives.

Wankhede claimed that he had spent 8.75 lakh for the entire trips which according to the report could barely cover air travel.

He also amassed properties, four flats in Mumbai, and 41, 688 acres of land in Washim alongside expensive Rolex watch valued at 17 lakh.
