MP Congress workers carry tomatoes in briefcase with symbolic gun protection
text_fieldsBhopal: As the price of tomatoes is going through the roof, Congress workers in Madhya Pradesh took out a unique protest at Bhopal’s 5 Number market on Monday.
They turned up at the market with a briefcase to carry tomatoes and a fake gun to give it protection.
The protest, sarcastically though, sought to convey that tomatoes have become so precious that one has to carry them home in briefcase with gun protection.
The prices of the edible berry, which is basic in many Indian curries, have crossed Rs 100 per kilogram several places in the nation, according to India Today.
Workers then brought the tomatoes safely to the party office and stored them symbolically in a vault.
Congress spokesperson Vicky Khongal called out the state BJP government saying that the party is treating inflation as its darling.
‘Inflation used to be called "dayan" (witch) during the Congress rule, and now it has become a "darling" (loveable) during the BJP rule,’ Khongal said.
